As a kid in scouts back in the late 50's, I also had one of those button together pup tents, as did many other boys. You could make a leantoo from one of the halves. An Army/Navy store in Jacksonville, FL, back in those days, sold those surplus tent halves for .50 cents each, a whole tent cost a buck.
