From what I read years ago, they registered T-450 and T-550 names, so they may be planning on heavier-duty versions of Transit to replace the E-Series. They are not likely to walk away from C-Class market they basically own. It'll be interesting to see how it unfolds for sure.

My interpretation of the above post is: you're not sure they will use the new 6r140 transmission in the 2016 chassis because you're thinking they might eliminate the E-350 sooner rather than later so why bother with an upgrade. Right?
