I used butyl tape too and dumped the new foam gaskets when I replaced the stock lights with the LED units. Sealed the outside with black RV flex and used rubber o-rings with the new stainless steel screws. So far, no moisture. It was tempting to use the new foam gaskets that came with the new LED lights but I knew they were not going to keep out the moisture.
