I too have a Chateau and recently discovered enough room for 4-12v batteries under the steps. The front ones are tough enough. I'm wondering how the heck you install the rear ones! The terminal block (second pic) has enough room for two more cables.

Do you:
- Drop the rack and then try to reinstall it with the batteries in the tray? (My name isn't Arnold)
- Slide the batteries to the back and try to install the cables in the space between the battery and chassis? (Can you say zzz-zzz-poof!?)

Please don't say take it to a dealer.
