Yes, I insulated mine some but it still has a roar to it - but it helped some. The fan noise is much quieter. So in the dinning area its not bad to watch TV but in the bedroom you can still hear the drone of the heater (My heater kinda close to the bedroom but really its under my fridge). I dont think there is much you can do about the drone but it helped some.
I was going to do an extensive posting on this subject soon.... maybe today..... so look for it soon.
Let us know if you figure out how to quiet the drone down.
