There are valves to the water heater that are very hard to reach. Mine were bypassed when I brought it home. I removed the little half wall under the sink to easily get to the valves. You can't see the valves with the wall installed.
I'm not aware of any drains below the tank. I'm actually installing the Camco electric heating element tomorrow. Will look to see if there are any other drains.
