I'm not sure why the holes are even there in the first place. There's nothing "protruding" on the slide that would fit in to them. And they're a direct conduit inside, for critters, bugs and water. Rain comes in freely in the forward one. Haven't seen it much on the rear one, for some reason. Can anyone think of a reason I shouldn't just build plugs to close them off?
