Pulling it out seems like over kill. Consider too, that you need to start the generator monthly to keep it in prime operating condition
I like to start up the motorhome as well, every month, and let it run until the moisture stops spewing out the tail pipe...anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes depending on outside temps.
I've done this for years and seems to work well for me.
