I have no need to put the slide out while the cover is on. The 24.1 slide is very small and only extends about 20" or so--not like we're partying in there during the winter LOL. Even at only 20" I don't think it could be extended as the cover is pretty tight along the sides.
I do go inside frequently in the winter. The cover has zippered panels on the door side to allow for access.
