Adding powered vents to Freedom Elite Sprinter

I am adding MaxxAir / MaxxVent powered vents to our newly purchased 2018 Freedom Elite on MB Sprinter chassis and have hit a bump in the road.

No problem on rear vent... removed the non-powered vent and the 12 volt wiring just came down from the ceiling. Different story on the front; the wiring diagram shows it to be powered but when I took off the bottom surround, it is nothing but metal on all four sides. Perhaps there is a 12 volt line behind this but where to start. Has anyone faced this issue before? I will remove the vent itself tomorrow and perhaps the wiring is tucked up behind the metal right at the top???
