I got tired of messing with the original bed platform to access storage and electronics. So I designed and built a better alternative.

I can now open original storage space.

And now I can access electronics and a little extra storage space.

And I can access both at the same time if required.


I made it about an inch shorter than the mattress so we can sit on the end of the bed. I also put a nice radius on the corners so we don't scrape or legs on the sharp edges of the original one.


Had to cut a notch in the end of the side piece so it wouldn't hit that fancy headboard.


Does a pretty good job of keeping us off of the floor.
