Anyway, I appreciate all the thoughts on this. I have decided to check it monthly for mice (without running the genny) in the generator area and reapply my mice deterrents as necessary. If I don't find mice to be an issue (no mice droppings), I will assume the heat from running the generator was the major thing attracting the mice.
So for this winter, at least, I will not be running the generator monthly. We'll see what spring brings and I'll keep you posted.
