Yes, Inverter must be in the ON position for transfer switch to operate

But remember...the inverter isn’t actually running once the transfer switch senses 110 volts from shore power. It only acts as a conduit

Inverter automatically runs to provide 1200 watts of AC power only when it no longer senses 110 volt source from your shore power
