Yikes! the Follow Up

Embarrassingly, I admit, I fell into a trap of assumption. Because I "believed" the resistance and clicking I felt in the service valve (and fit with what I read about the slam shut valve shutoff allowing a trickle of flow) I did find a propane delivery service that would change out the valve (no saving the gas). As he prepared to begin, he backed of the POL retaining nut (bushing?) about a quarter turn and opened the valve...plenty of flow. The valve was good. There was enough back pressure, by cracking the nut, to NOT trip the slam shut. So $180 later for his diagnostic exam, we determine it was the Dometic stove (regulator or both thermo couples). I was so stuck on my assumption of the service valve (whoever heard of a stove failing? DOH!) that I didn't test everything else.

So, the Dometic servicing dealer didn't get back to me and Amazon provided a $100 2 burner drop-in (with some modifying) and I'm off to Quartzsite.
