The Cheap-Heat system is probably pretty good, however, the wife and I tend to stay in one place long term, so we generally get to have our electric metered instead of being included in the daily/weekly/monthly rates. So, we do things a bit different.
We had the Canadian Package installed in our 2010 MS 38TKSB3, so there are two different 30,000 btu furnaces. One heats the living/dining/kitchen and bathroom, while the other heats the bedroom.
During the day, we will run the electric fireplace and one or may two Lasko heaters for supplemental heat instead of the furnaces. At night, when I go to bed, the downstairs electric heat is shut off and we allow the furnace to run, thus heating the underbelly and basement. We "might" have the smaller Lasko heater running in the bedroom, but not always.
Even in -6 degree overnight temps, we have had very little problems. The one thing that happens is that at about 0 degrees, the hot water line from the water manifold to the kitchen sink will freeze up. However, being PEX line, it has never broken.
