Here's what I would do starting with the Roadtrippers website/app.
First, start a trip using Vail and Banff only. This will give you the fastest route.
Second, decide if you want to vary the route to add midway destinations and decide how far you want to travel daily. We normally plan 300-350 miles/day.
Third, I use the RVParky app to find towns with campgrounds near our mile limit. Use that one or some of the others to pick your stops.
Fourth, I factor in those side trips. Yellowstone? Calgary?
Fifth, can I stay free at a Wally mrt or Crkr Barrl, etc along the way?
Review, did I allow enough time for diversions and some flexibility for changes?
Finally, make reservations where the campgrounds will be busy. (If you're not sure, call the campground and ask.)
If you are returning to Vail, that figures to almost 4,000 miles. That is a lot of stops and a lot of days. It's your money and your time, but for many, planning the trip is part of the fun! Personally, I wouldn't trust someone at any price to plan the whole trip and meet our preferences.
That's what I do, others would do differently, find your own best methods.
