The small panel in front of the dash is removed by simply turning the two screws 1/4 turn.
To remove the panel the radio is in: Its easier to remove the radio first then there are four screws that are "welded" to the plastic. Two on the very top front and two on the back bottom. With the radio out you can reach your hand in and loosen the nuts on the top two (mine were hand tight). The bottom two you can reach around above the doghouse to remove. Once the four nuts are removed you can lift the panel out by pulling out at the bottom until the screws clear and then lift straight up--be careful as all the switches, etc. have wires connected to them.

The "tools" to remove the radio were included in our Thor bag with all the manuals the dealer gave us (just two hoops that plug into holes on each side of the radio):
