There you go.... Another find idea. I bet 1 out of 5 or 10 will leak in the first 2 years. And 5 out of 10 in 5 years.
At least they could have used something like RTV silcone gasket maker. Once the putty move it opens up a gap then it wont take long before a leak starts. Were something like RTV is flexable and will last for years and its removable for future repairs or replacment of components down the road.
I would use something else If I was you and perhaps wrap connection with that pipe tape for leaks just in case.
