As for the steering damper, I have already replaced that with a Bilstein. No lost motion or transition in the Bilstein although it is a lot stiffer.

Good additional information regarding the Bilstein shocks. As this thread has addressed the front end issue a number of times....this information is old and you may be aware of the fact that the Ford factory installed bump stops are poor. Ron installed Sumo's to replace the bump stops front and rear with very good results.
