Onan QG4000 WON’T Run

First: check for overfill of oil. Chuck dipstick readings. Fill to just below threads of dipstick. On the dipstick this will be just over empty mark. Overfill shuts down the engine.

Second: remove carburetor bowl assembly after removing red + wire and black ground from their plug ins. When loosening the solenoid try to get the nut ti the bowl with it without break the two dangling wires. Remove bowl and the main jet is in the middle and the metering key is your altitude dial. Using carb cleaner clean exposed parts very well. Take picture of the bowl assemble gasket and the washers. Remove the coil and note which washer goes where. Clean the main jet rots with carb cleaner, I soaked mine in MEK. Do not soak the altitude parts, the dial, they are plastic. Note the 8 little hole in the jet - make sure they are clean.

Reassemble in same order.

Start and it’s runs and runs.
