ladder fix
I had the same problem starting as far back as two years ago. Mine never did as your had, but I felt like additional support was in order. It may not look really pretty, but it fixed my movement issue. I'm guessing that you never hand anything on the ladder, especially while you are moving. Here is my fix, never has moved on me sense. But I do use my step ladder to give me a good start.
