The best combination I recall ever seeing was years ago near Death Valley (for those with very deep pockets). It was a luxury diesel pusher flat towing a Sportsmobile 4X4 Ford E-350 camper van.

The van by itself was quite the rig, but to serve as a toad for day trips, whether on or off-road, would be awesome.
