There are 2 types of emergency egress windows. Thor manual recommends opening the windows twice a year to keep the seals from sticking to the window. Some open and fall away others are hinged at the top and need to prop open to get out.
My Siesta the egress window releases at the top (falls away) when opened about 45 degrees or greater. I can open part way and clean the seals.. I do from the outside just in case.
Another thread recommended placing a pillow or the corner of the mattress on the window frame as a cushion in the event of actual egress. Feet first of course.
