There are screws on the inside to disassemble it. Climb out the drivers window to get your tools. Yeah I keep mine in an outside compartment too. Set your step ladder from the window to the ground first the first step is a doozy.
If the lock rod is broken inside there is little a locksmith can do. As for the fire department... they’ll just crowbar the door open and you’ll have additional problems.
