It's not really a water pump brand issue, it's how it's plumbed and adjusted. I can't speak to your DRV (Yikes! I'm in the DRV forum
) but generally the WP is just a parallel source to the shore water connection, so while running it while connected to shore water may raise water pressure at the outlets, it will only run if the shore water pressure is below the setpoint on the pump, and it will use the water in the FW tank to do it. If there is a large enough difference then you may not even be supplying any water from the shore water connection as the check valve at the hose connection will be closed.
