yep, same here with the Blue Ox Alpha... if there is too much 'pressure' from the toad, either uphill or downhill, the latches can be difficult to release...

in those situations, and since I will be cranking the tow vehicle anyway, I just go ahead and crank it, and move it slightly to release some of the pressure, adding the Emergency Brake to keep it from moving before I get out... works every time.
