Replacing room in an outlaw

Hi,

I'm considering buying an outlaw that a previous owner removed the overhead bedroom. It appears to be a matter of reframing the room and enclosing it. All electrical and ducting is still in place.

I am not a carpenter but have some cabinet maker friends who could help. My concern is reattaching supports to the side walls. Especially if the previous holes are still there.

Is there a recommended way to add something like this back into the garage area? Any videos someone could suggest or sites to review?

Would materials used be important? i.e. lighter weight vs say 2x4s of plywood or is that negligible.

Thank you for reading.
