So, this encouraged me to finally take my computer table off of my dash and saw through the piece of wood, which allows access to the battery compartment. (Sidenote: we are well and truly screwed if we hit something head-on, aren't we???) Anyway, I believe I see what the issue is down there, but it would be very helpful if some of you who are a few steps ahead of us could post pics to show exactly where the problem areas are and the mods you did to fix them.
