Tank Pipe Problems

Thank you for the winterizing information. Last season CW did it (because RV was in for repairs when frost arrived) with horrible results. I had to replace water heater, kitchen faucet, and pipes leading from grey and black tanks. They fixed everything, but this year I am doing my own. When doing the complete winterization, I plan on adding about 1/2 gallon of antifreeze to each tank. Is that enough? I also gave a thought to keeping my tank heaters on throughout the winter. Is that overkill? By leaving them on constantly, will I cause damage to the tank heating system?
