Update
Wow: Got an e-mail this afternoon from them. New part is on its way (no cost) and the e-mail includes instructions on how to replace it or they have allotted a $ amount should I wish to have a bike shop do the work (get the work performed and send them the invoice for reimbursement).

Cool. (Wasn't expecting any reply until Monday.)
