Batteries need more maintenance than the motor.
Completely discharging (10volts) is very hard on lead/acid batteries.
Volt
meters are less than $20 at Walmart Amazon etc. and very easy to learn how to use on the DC scale.
Distilled water maybe 1 or 2 times a yr depending on
your situation. Be very careful adding water
