Power Converter Fan

So, Mother Nature has decided that winter is coming early to Montana. We are expecting snow and overnight lows in the 20s this weekend and into next week. I haven't winterized anything, as I wasn't expecting winter yet. We thought we might get one more small trip in before the season changed.

Due to the forecast temps, I plugged my Vegas in today and in order to turn on the tank heaters. I think I am being overcautious, but oh well. When I plugged it in, the fan on the bottom part of the power converter came on. That is the first time I have ever noticed that fan come on. I waited for a while to see if it went off, but it was still on after about 20 minutes.

Why is it on and should it eventually go off?
