Comparing apples vs oranges????

The Sprinter diesel is rated 188 HP. Up to this year their chassis GVWR were limited to 11,000 pounds so part of performance and fuel economy is due to smaller size and lower weight compared to larger gasser motorhomes, particularly since larger rigs often tow a toad.

Cummins estimates Diesel engines to have 20~40% better fuel economy when compared on similar power and size. That sounds about right since gas versus diesel half-ton pickup trucks are in range of 25 versus 30 MPG highway on EPA controlled testing for basically same truck.

I personally wouldn’t expect 50% higher MPG for diesel when comparing similar size motorhomes. Problem is there are not many Class Cs the size of Sprinter Cs running on gas to compare against.
