The vast majority of folks that have been around a few years use a bit of Dawn or cheap dish detergent added to a partially full tank while traveling from point A to B
Upon arrival they dump the tank and it has been cleaned very well by the sloshing action
The thing that complicates many folks dilemma with the black tanks is leaving the valves open when connected to full hookups. You never do that.
