Another old way and a very good way was to use a small amount of Rid-X added to a partially filled tank en-route to the next destination. It does need a bit of time to work but sure did keep the walls clean without any kind of rinsing

Another tip for the newbies is to have at least an inch of water in the tank with your preferred treatment before using the black tank as a black tank
