So the sequence was park, extend the jacks, shut off the engine, extend the slides.

Same for my 16 Palazzo 36.2. When in position; put 2X 12's under leveling jacks, lower air suspension, hit cruise control button for high idle, put leveling system in auto mode, when level shut it off, hit brake pedal to kill high idle, hook up shore power or start genny, shut off engine, put out slides, hook up water, sewer. The no slides with engine running thing was so you couldn't extend slides while traveling.
Another good thing to not forget is always put air suspension in "Auto" and allow your air brake pressure to recover before trying to travel. You should actually check the stroke on your slack adjusters on your air brakes prior to moving your motorhome. Your RV dealer may not have told you that or showed you how to do it. Can be found on U-Tube or your Freightliner chassis manual.
