I don’t want to go without protection. So - is he correct?
It’s a 2017 Thor Outlaw 38RE.
And it I do need to get a protector, what should I look for? Any pros and cons?
Thanks in advance!

As far as I know you do not have an EMS. Only Aria, Tuscany and Venetian coaches in the Thor MC stable that are equipped with Surge Guard electrical management system (EMS). Surge Guard is only one company of several that makes a RV EMS. They are two types of EMS - portable and hard wired. If you chose a hard wired, then do you install it before of after the ATS?
I have a Progressive EMS with remote monitor installed after the ATS. Progressive recommends their AMS be installed before the ATS to protect the ATS. I prefer it after the ATS so I can monitor the generator's load and frequency.
