That might be a good idea to get a hold of lci and get the proper part number. A few RV owners had problems with their motors and I thought it might be a good idea to purchase a spare motor. If one went out I would have a spare. I do not have any adjustable slide locks but this does not sound like a bad idea.

I have looked at the motor replacement video and it looks fairly easy to do and you might be right by doing it first and not understanding the process in the field. I was just concerned if one did go bad could my wife help me push the slide back in.
