I agree with Frank. Ours was doing the same thing, and has for a couple years now. We didn't have any leaks either. This year when we were in CO. the pump went south on us. I replaced it with a new one, ($120) and it also cycles periodically. Just not as often. So the "leaking by" within the pump is normal I guess.
