If Google (Chrome) wasn't so invasive of your privacy, I'd use it. Take the time to read their terms and agreement. If you have GMail, they read your emails. Your phone? Forget it. Unless you do everything right, they access all, and I mean ALL of your data. Set each app's sync function to off, except those you really need to sync (e.g. email), Then only turn sync on when you need it. If you sync, it gets stored at Google and they have every right to access and analyze it because you're using their services. If you want to put yourself out there like that, it's your prerogative. I choose not and will put up with the pain to protect my privacy.

That's why I don't use Chrome but a Chromium based alternative browser that doesn't talk to the mothership Google. When Edge goes Chromium based it won't talk to the Google mothership either and Google is not happy about that.
