I was mostly referring to the 25% difference between your 4.30 and his 5.38.

At same speed when you cruise at 2,000 RPM he's doing 2,500 RPM, and much more important your engine is working at higher torque, making it more efficient.

Actually, I find it interesting that your 4.30 gearing, when adjusted for tire size, is taller than the much smaller and lighter Axis' 4.10. That shows there is room for Axis improvement.
