I now have another questions - my tires are 5 years old. The dealer that sold me the RV in October said the tires are ok. I want to drive this from St. Louis to San Diego and don't want to worry about a blowout on the way. Where is the best place to buy tires for this RV?

Any dry rot on the sidewalls? The tread getting thin?
In my opinion running overloaded is a bigger threat to the possibility of blow out than the age of the tires. Running at under or over pressures will also increase your chances of blowing tires. Aside from road hazards, excess heat in the tires is the number one cause of tire failure. Over loading or improper inflation will cause excess heat. As someone that worked in the auto industry, (a Chrysler NIASE double gear certified tech early 70’s) long ago I’m not a firm believer in the tire mfgrs expiration dates. There is no way we would have told owners to replace tires based on tire age if sidewall and tread were in good shape. On my last MH we ran the tires for 9 years 40,000 before the sidewalls started to show signs of aging. We rotated the tires every season, kept covered and treated sidewalls every year with preservative. Now you will hear the liability if you blow an outdated tire arguments. Me I am too old to worry about what if’s. Above is my opinion and we all know what opinions are like
