I have figured out the shower dilemma if you have the talent:
I did some measuring and there is no reason the current bathroom sink cabinet can't mount on the rear bathroom door facing the same way it now does.
Unfasten the cabinet from the floor and wall, screw it to the door, add flex hoses to the current lines.
Rebuild the shower pan to max size, cut the cabinet to fit over the shower pan lip when the door is closed, and you have a shower twice the size. You'll just take a shower with the bathroom extended to full size which then has the sink sitting in the aisle...still usable.

It's really a pretty easy solution.
I have no need to do this as I have no complaints about the shower as it is.
It's completely doable. It's a small weekend project except for the shower pan.
The shower pan is tile and flexible grout.
