Ford is finally addressing additional legroom for the E-Series. As previously discussed, since the new 7.3L V8 is significantly narrower than outgoing V10, it begged the question of whether such a large engine doghouse was needed. The press release below unfortunately makes it appear the modification is limited to the engine cover.
I’d guess this will provide added “legroom” between engine cover and seats, and perhaps on either side of engine, but doesn’t sound like it will address space for feet at floor level. I had hoped Ford would have made sheet metal revisions also, but that seems unlikely now. However, any revision to improve mobility in and out of cab seats is welcomed.
