Fixes We've Had To Do On Vegas

We bought our Vegas at an RV show and one of the first problems we had was that the screws for the bathroom door handles were pulling loose because people at the show weren't operating the door latch before trying to open the door.

The fix was to remove handles and jam toothpicks coated with superglue into the screw holes. I let the toothpicks sit for 24 hours and then cut them off flush (more or less) with the doors. I drilled small, shallow pilot holes to get the screws started and then screwed the door handles back in place. The real wood in the toothpicks makes a good solid anchor for the screws and we haven't had a problem since.

During the summer, I lost my balance and fell against the drop leaf table next to the sink. Naturally, this ripped out 3 of the four screws. Used the same technique as for the bathroom doors. It did occur to me that it would be possible to drill out the screw holes with a small drill with a depth stop and use small wooden dowels instead of toothpicks to provide a solid mount for the screws.
