You need a multi-meter.
House power is 120 volts AC. Lighting is 12 volts DC
Converter changes 120 volt ac power to 12 volts dc for lighting and control circuits as well as charging the batteries.
There is a resetable inline 12 volt fuse within 6' of the battery.
There are Two 30 or 40 amp Reverse Polarity 12 volt fuses on the converter fuse panel you have blown by hooking up the batteries backwards.
Check the outlet you are plugged into for 120 volt power.
