I have some of your same concerns with our 24F with the same compartment. I coil the power cord in 2 small coils. Wedge the back coil in being certain to not contact the slide controller in the back. Front half of the coil is pulled out for use and clears the rabbit hole for feeding it out. This half is long enough for my home connection and nearly all camp connections, back cord half stays in place protecting the slide controller.
