My Progressive EMS is installed after the Transfer Switch, just as Progressive recommends.

Right after installation, I read a post by a fellow Vegas owner who had a generator alternator malfunction. It kept shutting down the EMS.
After analysis, he found that the generator voltage controller malfunctioned, and was sending 170 volts to his RV.

He credits the fact that his RV was saved because he hardwired a Surge Guard after the Transfer Switch.

And, oh by the way...the Transfer Switch was unharmed.
