Pex spare parts

I’ve had to do a few in-situ repairs over the years - mostly to friends’ rigs and not my own. Here’s what I carry:

- two 4’ pieces of 1/2” PEX, one each of blue and red
- a handful of straight connectors
- a handful of plugs (useful for cutting and isolating a line until you can get into a better situation)
- a handful of elbows
- a couple of quarter turn valves
- a plastic tubing cutter (also works well on dog rawhides if big enough)
- 20 or so crimp rings
- crimper
- crimp/pipe removal tool.

So far, I haven’t run into anything I can’t fix on the road (broken/leaky valve, split elbow, cut pipe).

The Sharkbite tool-less connectors are also quite handy. They’re much more expensive, however. You’d likely only need a cutter, some pipe and a few different types of connectors if you went that route.
