I agree.
The amount of time and effort put forth to salvage a $50(when new) placeholder radio is just ridiculous.

The people who learn an entire new skill set, currently don't know a Phillips from a flipoff and think they can remove their dash in the salvage attempt... Ridiculous. They never come back here and tell of the $500 in damage and the trip to the radio install place to fix their mess up.

Buy the radio with good reviews of your choice, go with a $100 to a radio install place, take a walk for an hour, come back to a 1,000% better unit with apple or android and 10,000 apps installed in it.

It's a KIT vehicle. Be glad Thor lended you a radio until you found the one which best fits your circumstance.

(I have a free non-gps fully functional axerra for pick up near the grand canyon)
